Your resume header should feature your contact information including your full name, phone number, email address and location. You can also include your professional job networking links, like your LinkedIn profile.

Resume summary or objective

The best resume is one that is relevant to the job posting and easy for recruiters to scan. Including either a resume summary or a resume objective statement will make it far easier for hiring managers to quickly get an idea of your qualifications. A resume summary is best for those with lots of experience and should be a sum-up of your most relevant skills and achievements. A resume objective, in contrast, should be a statement of your career goals and intentions and is best for those with minimal work experience.

Skills 

The resume skills section should contain 8 to 12 bullet points detailing relevant hard and soft skills. Examples of the skills you will find on realtor resume samples include:

• Valuing commercial properties
• Purchase agreements
• Communication skills
• Time management
• Excel
• Business administration
• Social media management

Work experience

Your resume work experience section should include up to 10 years of work history (unless more is specifically requested in the job description). List your previous jobs in reverse-chronological order. Use this section to show that you have a solid understanding of the real estate market and recent market trends. Include your previous job titles, employment dates and key information about your successes in the listed roles. Unless you opt for a hybrid resume format that balances skills and experience, your work experience will make up the bulk of your resume. If you have experience volunteering or have held an internship, you can add it in the work experience section.

Education 

Your resume education section should contain your most advanced academic achievements and special training. If you possess a  real estate license, include that information in this section so a potential hiring manager sees it clearly.

Achievements and awards

If you have won awards in any previous roles, you should list those awards in your resume. Provide the name of the award, the organization that awarded it, and the date it was bestowed.

Certificaions

This section should include key information about your professional certifications. This means the certification, the date it was achieved, and the awarding agency.

You can also add a section for your professional memberships and licenses if you didn’t already include the license elsewhere in the resume. If you are a member of the National Association of Realtors, for example, a hiring manager will be interested to see this information on your resume.
